Project 365: Week 4

Wow! I can't believe that we are almost done with a full month in 2012! This week was a long one. Both kids and the hubby are sick. One of my friends passed away on Monday.  Our neighbors Mom passed away on Sunday. So far, I am not overly impressed with 2012. I am a bit late with this post and I am missing a picture. Let's take a look at my week.

                                                  Sunday

Happy Birthday Abby!!  I can not believe that it has been 10 years. I am so proud of you. You bring so much happiness into my life. Love ya Sis!

When we got up this morning every thing was flocked. I guess Mother Nature realized it was Abby's birthday and she wanted to decorate for her!

This little shop used to be a one room school. My Dad used to go here when he was a boy. He would walk to school everyday. He used to tell stories about how he used to walk two miles to school everyday. Even when there was a bunch of snow. And, it was uphill both ways! I used to roll my eyes and think, "Yeah, right Dad, uphill both ways..." About two years ago, I realized he was right! I drive down the road that he used to walk on my way to work every day.  Just past the house where he grew up there is a great big hill. When you get to the bottom of that hill, you go up another big hill on the other side!  Sorry I ever doubted you Dad!!!

Monday

This is the book that I am reading right now. I love her books!

Tuesday

Left work a bit early today to take Hayden to the doctor.  He has a sinus infection and an ear infection!

Wednesday

This sign is at the end of our road.  Our road used to be a seasonal road and was not maintained by the county road commission. There are a total of three houses on our road. Ours, one in the middle and one on the other end. It still takes them a while to get to us when we get a lot of snow.

Thursday

Rural road traffic jam! LOL

Friday

No picture today! Oops!

Saturday

That is one comfy cat!

Hope you all had a great week!

Project 365: Week 3

Here we are in week three already!  Seems as if this year will keep the forward momentum that 2011 had! I can remember when I was younger, how I used to wish that I was older. What was I thinking?  LOL  My Mom used to tell me not to wish my life away because the older you get, the faster it goes! My Mom is one smart woman! I can't believe how fast the years fly by now. Ok, let's get on with the show!

                                            Sunday

I went to let the dog in and this is what was waiting for me at the door.  The kids had been outside playing and Mindy HAD to go out and see what was going on. This dog is such a house plant in the winter! She has a very thin coat so she gets cold easy. Nice of Abby to give her a hug to help her warm up! Snowy hands and all!

Tim spends most of the decent weather weekend days cutting wood. We heat with wood so it is important to have it on hand. Here he is coming in with the first load of the day.

Monday

This is Charlie. When he wants attention, he will insert himself where ever he needs to so he can get attention! I was playing on the computer and he popped right up in front of me and would not move until he had a good petting!

Tuesday

Abby is usually willing to let me take her picture. She hasn't started giving me the eye roll yet when I ask if I can take one!

Wednesday

I had today off because I work this weekend.  I have been wanting an omelet for a while now so I thought I would go ahead and make myself one.  I put in onion, green pepper, tomato and cheese. It was yummy!

Thursday

This was the calm between the storms. We had some gorgeous blue sky between two snow events this week. Neither snow storm dropped what was predicted so I am thankful for that!

Friday

The sunrise was so pretty this morning.  My Dad always used to say, "Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning."  When I saw this red sky I thought oh boy here we go! We were predicted 5 to 7 inches of snow out of the storm coming this afternoon. I think we only got 3 or 4! YAY!

This is Josh. He is one of our friends and my husbands coworker. He is so funny.  My hubby was the best man in Josh's wedding this summer. Josh is only 24 and Tim is 42. When Josh asked him to be best man, Tim asked him if he was sure he wanted the "old man" standing up there next to him. Josh told him he was sure and that he didn't have to worry because there would be plenty of room for his walker too! You never know what he will say next!

Saturday

This was a big day for Abby. Tomorrow is her 10th birthday.  She has wanted to get her ears pierced for a while now and I told her we could do that for her birthday.  Here she is getting her lobes marked.

Lining up for the big moment. Notice the change in her expression. The ladies told her they would count to five. I was getting ready to take another before shot and as I clicked, so did they!

OUCH!  They told her they were counting to five and the did it on three!  They said they have found that kids tense up too much when they know it is coming on three so, they tell them five and go on three! The alignment is better and the surprise takes away some of the ouch. Love the look on her face!

That was my rather uneventful week.  I need to start getting things around for Abby's party this afternoon.  We are going over to my MIL's for the party. With the cold and snow, it is hard for my MIL to get my FIL out and about so, it is easier for us to go to them.  I look forward to checking out what you all have been up to this week!  Have a great week!

Project 365: Week 2

Good Morning! This was a fairly uneventful week. We had our last family Christmas for 2011 on Sunday. It is always nice to get together with my husband's family. They are lots of fun to be with. So you get a few extra pictures for Sunday! :)

                                           Sunday

Aunt Bev and Uncle Gene open their home and host the family every year for Christmas. Usually we do this the first Sunday in December but, this year Aunt Bev had bursitis in her hip so, we pushed it out until January! Aunt Bev and Uncle Gene A.L.W.A.Y.S. have a camera in hand! When Uncle Gene came around the corner, I told him turn about is fair play! LOL

The camera brings out the ham in my oldest! :)

This is our nephew Darrin and his fiancee Linda. They just got engaged on Christmas morning!

In the background are my SIL Amy and her hubby Steve. In front of them are Amy's girls. Niece Katie is on the left and Niece Amanda is on the right.  I asked Linda to sneak a picture of them because they will never pose for one!

Amanda opening her white elephant gift. Aunt Bev is seated at the end of the table. Her tree is gorgeous every year!

A close picture of Amanda. I think she only has four months of college left and she will be an RN. So very proud of her!

Monday

The moon was still up when I left for work this morning. I thought it was so pretty behind the clouds and over the neighbors barn!

Tuesday

We bleed Maize and Blue in our house. However, my son has turned against us!  His best friend and his family are all State fans. Somehow, the peer pressure has turned my sons blood green! I keep hoping it is a stage and he will grow out of it! LOL

Wednesday

This is the steeple of the First Presbyterian Church right down the street from the bank.  Everyday, the bells play songs in the afternoon. I happened to be going home today as the bells were playing How Great Thou Art. I sat and listened and sang till they stopped. I was moved nearly to tears. God has a way of knowing when we need a little boost. My God, How Great Thou Art!

Thursday

This is Mindy. She is such a good girl. Spoiled rotten. She is approximately 55 to 60 pounds and thinks she is a lap dog.  If I sit in my recliner and cover up with my green fleece blanket, she will jump up and roll over on her back like a baby and go to sleep!

Friday the 13th!

Snowy, slippery roads awaited me for the trek into work this morning!  Back roads and the highway were snow covered. At least on the highway there are grumble strips to let you know where you are!  The house that you can barely see on the left is the house that my Dad was born in and grew up in.  My cousin and her husband live in it now.

This is what awaited me when I got to work this morning! After the drive in, I needed that! Stephanie is a good friend and she certainly breathes life and excitement into the otherwise boring world of banking!

Saturday

Tonight was the Snowball Dance for the high school.  My son L.O.V.E.S. to dance.  I think he looks so handsome. I can't believe how fast the kids grow up!

Thanks for visiting! Hope you all have a wonderful week!  I am looking forward to heading over to Sara's to check out the week that you all had!

Project 365: Week 1

I am a newbie to Project 365.  I have been following along for a a couple years now and have debated about joining.  I have thought since I started following that it was an awesome idea.  Thanks you Sara for hosting!

                                                                     Sunday

We went to my  in-laws to celebrate my birthday today. My actual birthday was on December 30th but, this day worked better for all of us for celebrating!

                                                                 Monday

Oh no, I think Mother Nature has realized that it is winter time in Michigan.  We have been very lucky so far this winter. Rather mild temps and very little snow fall! Yay!

                                                                         Tuesday

Brrrr..... it was so cold this morning when I got to work. I think this is the coldest morning so far this winter!

                                                                    Wednesday
No picture for Wednesday. Bummer! I thought I has one for everyday this week!

                                                                    Thursday

I love working at the bank.  I get to make all kinds of friends.  This pretty girl and her daddy came in to see me today.  I love it when our customers bring their fur kids in to see us.  Bell looks like she would like to make a dog bone withdrawal!

                                                                            Friday

We seem to get a lot of gorgeous sunsets here.  I hope you all don't get sick and tired of sunset pictures from me!

                                                                        Saturday

This picture was taken with my cell phone at work.  The cows on the side of this van cracked me up!

I am really looking forward to tracking my year in pictures.  I feel like I know so many of you since I have been following along for so long.  Have a great week!

Long Days

Some days just seem so much longer than others. I have been fighting a head ache for four days now. That makes the days seem so much longer!

It seems like my work is never done. It feels like there is always something that needs to be done. Always someone that needs me to do them a favor. Kinda funny how often the favor isn't returned! After a while, you get tired of being the door mat! I try to keep a positive attitude and I try to keep the peace but, some days, I just want to let 'em have it! Once upon a time, I would have. I think that I am a better person than I used to be. Thank God for that!

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it is already 2012. Where does the time go? I am brand new to the blogging world so please bear with me!  I decided to blog because I have a couple friends who have blogs.  As of right now, I am planning on joining Project 365. I have till the end of the week to make up my mind! :)  I am looking forward to this venture into the world of blogging! Wishing all of you a Very Happy New Year full of much love, happiness and success!
